'The 2010 show of the Society of Scottish Artists at the Royal Scottish Academy includes work by staff from the Printmaking Department of the Wroclaw Academy of Fine Arts. These prints are a welcome introduction to a department which has grown into an important centre of printmaking in Poland.'

Moving Stories is a research project about the lives of young Poles in Edinburgh and Krakow. It is part of a study by Katherine Botterill at Newcastle University and explores the Polish experience of moving, working and living between Scotland and Poland.

Chopin in Scotland

We celebrate the bicentenary of Fryderyk Chopin's birth with a display following the composer's visit to Scotland in 1848.

The visit was largely organised through Scottish friends of Chopin's, Jane Stirling and Katherine Erskine, who had met Chopin in Paris. Chopin gave several concerts during his visit, but did not compose any new music. His stay was marred by illness in this late stage of his life.
